Area Agency on Aging of Northwest Michigan

The Area Agency on Aging of Northwest Michigan (AAANM) is a private, non-profit corporation, designated as an Area Agency on Aging in 1974 by the Michigan Office of Services to the Aging (OSA). As one of more than 670 area agencies on aging nationwide, AAANM is responsible for developing, managing and funding a comprehensive system of services for older adults in Northwest Lower Michigan. The Mission of AAANM is "to serve older adults and certain persons with disabilities...by coordinating services that address their needs and that support their independence, dignity and quality of life...and strive to be an effective advocate for our community." AAANM receives federal and state dollars under agreements with OSA and the Michigan Department of Community Health. AAANM also receives funds from each of the ten County governments units and receives contributions and memorials from clients, caregivers, and the general public.
